Penguins
There are 17 types of penguins. Emperor, Adelie, Gentoo, Chinstrap and the Macaroni penguins all live on the continent of Antarctica. The King, Royal, Rockhopper and Macaroni Penguins live on the sub Antarctic islands.
Penguins are birds but they cannot fly. They are excellent swimmers and are great at diving. Their feathers are waterproof and they have a layer of fat to keep them warm. Penguins eat small fish and krill. Their predators are the leopard seals, killer whales(Orca), skuas and sheathbills. |
